Ingredients
Makes 4 servings. Check items off as you go.
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- black pepper (about 10 cranks of a pepper mill)
- salt, to taste
Directions
- Combine all of ingredients except the salt in a small sauce pan. Stir and heat over medium heat, allowing it to come up to a slight simmer.
- Let the sauce cook and simmer lightly, stirring often, for five minutes. Taste the sauce and add salt if needed.
