Notes
Extra Servings, Extra Value
This recipe makes more than four servings, making the overall cost a bit higher—but each serving stays around $1.25 or less. Save extra portions in the fridge or freeze them to enjoy later.
Change it Up
Replace turkey with lean ground beef, chicken, cooked lentils, or white beans.
Use turmeric instead of Italian seasoning.
Add diced bell peppers to Step 2 and corn to Step 5.
Try substituting ground venison. Add a little oil or butter while cooking, or mix in moisture-boosters like sautéed onions, a splash of broth, or even a spoonful of tomato sauce to keep it tender and flavorful.
