raisins or dried cherries

chopped walnuts, peanuts, or pecans

brown sugar
Instructions
Add milk, juice, and chopped apple to a medium saucepan. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Heat the mixture on medium high until it starts to boil.
Stir in oatmeal, cinnamon, dried fruit, and brown sugar.
Return to low boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with nuts before serving.
