Turkey Gravy

Turkey Gravy

Savory from scratch gravy using turkey drippings.

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup turkey drippings (fat and juices from roasted turkey)
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups turkey or chicken stock
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs, such as rosemary, sage, or thyme or 1 ½ teaspoon of all three
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Pour liquid drippings from the roasting pan into a measuring cup or bowl.
  • Put ¼ cup of the drippings in a small pot on the stove over medium-low heat. Stir in flour and fresh garlic, if using.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth.
  • Stir in stock and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until gravy reaches desired consistency.
  • Add salt, pepper, and dried seasonings to your taste.
