Easy Carrot Fries

Crispy and slightly sweet roasted carrots make a great snack for kids and adults.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large carrots, peeled and cut into ¼ to ½-inch sticks
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil or cooking oil
  • teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 F.
  • Add carrots and oil to a small bowl. Mix until carrots are well coated.
  • Arrange carrots in a single layer on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Roast in the oven until carrots begin to soften and brown, about 5-10 minutes. Flip the carrots over and cook 5-10 minutes more.
  • Remove from oven and serve hot.

Notes

Change it Up
  • Add spices, such as dried dill weed, garlic powder, or za’atar.
  • Try this recipe with other root vegetables like parsnips, turnips, or rutabagas.
