
Savory from scratch gravy using turkey drippings. |
Ingredients
- ¼ cup turkey drippings (fat and juices from roasted turkey)
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups turkey or chicken stock
- 1 clove garlic, minced or ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs, such as rosemary, sage, or thyme or 1 ½ teaspoon of all three
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Pour liquid drippings from the roasting pan into a measuring cup or bowl.
- Put ¼ cup of the drippings in a small pot on the stove over medium-low heat. Stir in flour and fresh garlic, if using.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth.
- Stir in stock and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until gravy reaches desired consistency.
- Add salt, pepper, and dried seasonings to your taste.
