A summer slaw with cabbage, apples, and raisins in a sweet and spicy vinaigrette. |
Ingredients
- 4 cups cabbage, chopped or shredded
- 2 medium apples, finely chopped
- ½ cup raisins
- 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup honey*
- ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper, or ½ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- ¼ teaspoon salt, optional
Instructions
- Add cabbage, apples and raisins to a large bowl. Mix gently.
- Whisk together oil, honey, vinegar, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Add dressing to large bowl and mix until salad is well coated.
- Serve as a side dish, or as a topping for sandwiches in place of lettuce.
Notes
*Avoid giving honey to children under one year of age.
Change it Up
Add other chopped or shredded veggies such as carrots, radishes, cucumber, onion, or peppers.
